Sunday Stream of Consciousness

We are home after 4 days in Arizona. It was so nice to be in a different location but I am more glad than I have ever been to be home. Sometimes it takes a few days out of your routine to make you really appreciate it. And I for one, am totally appreciating the routine now.

While in Arizona, my baby, who has never in his life slept completely flat, took two naps, flat on the hotel bed. He didn’t even fuss. I just laid him down so he could play and he fell asleep. Twice. In one day. It was like I got a different baby for a day. With this in mind we might try transitioning him to flat sleeping again this week. Hopefully it’ll go better than it did last time.

In my 4 days away I think I managed to gain back the 5 pounds I’d lost in the past 2 weeks. I guess it’s nice to know that I’m still capable of losing weight, even if not permanently. Although I’m not at all convinced that it isn’t this diet that is causing me to have some issues with having enough fat in my breast milk, which is causing some issues for Eli. I’m going to talk to the pediatrician about it Wednesday, so hopefully they can point me in the right direction.

My baby is going to be 4 months old in 2 days. What. the. hell.

I love Iron Chef America, but I hate that seriously about 2/3 of the time the secret ingredient is fish. Fish is just not exciting. You can’t do fish dessert. And let’s be honest, dessert is the best part. It is such a mystery why I can’t lose weight.

The new tv seasons all begin soon and I am beyond ready. I’ve missed decent tv and have been completely overloaded with Food Network and HGTV. I’m excited for the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, among others. And let’s not forget, FOOTBALL.

My Cowboys clobbered my husband’s Giants during the season opener on Wednesday and I shall gloat about that up until they play again later this season. It is nice to finally win, it’s been a while. And the rest of the weekend was a bust for my teams…except my fantasy team, which has a whopping 140 points and my kicker hasn’t played yet. I did the autodraft this year and ended up with a rookie quarterback who absolutely killed it today. Unfortunately, he killed it against my Saints. I find that Fantasy Football tests my resolve about which teams I really love when my Fantasy players play against them.

I haven’t seen my sister in a week. And I misssss her.

This? Is my current favorite thing on the internet. It makes the history nerd in me so incredibly giddy. I even read all the comments.

Alright, I didn’t go to bed until 1am yesterday (combo of a stomachache, a nap I took earlier in the day and Eli deciding he needed to eat at midnight because he was too sleepy to eat enough before bed), so I am beat. I’m not going to tell you I’m going to blog more because that never works out, but I’ll stick with, we’ll see and hopefully for this week.

Have a great week!
