Sunday Stream of Consciousness
I’m back home after 5 days in my hometown with my family. This was truly one of the best holidays. I had a really good time with my family each and every day I was home. I wish I had more time to spend with them, but there were things that needed to be dealt with at home, and I’m also glad to be back here.
I’m also not feeling especially great tonight, so it’s probably a good thing that I’m not around a ton of people. My plan is to go to bed at 9pm tonight and hopefully wake up really well rested and feeling 10 times better. I’m crossing my fingers.
My cat has decided that he really, really likes caramel corn. I’ll add it to the list which contains all the other people foods you’re never supposed to give your cat. The list excludes the one thing the vet recommended for his upset stomach: pumpkin.
One of my kickass Christmas presents was a new Kindle. As soon as I finish the hardcover book I’m reading now, I will begin making really good use of it. I love reading and I think that I should try to do more of it during the school year as a little mental break. Hopefully the upcoming semester isn’t too difficult.
My grandma, in the middle of opening a box with a knife looked at the dog at her feet and said, “watch out, I’ll slit your throat, honey.” And then we all died laughing. It’s potentially one of the most awkward things I’ve ever heard at Christmas.
So, I’m not sure if I’ve made this known or not, but my brother-in-law (my husband’s brother) is in the Spider-man musical on Broadway. He did a huge volume of the choreography and stunts that are performed. And my in-laws went to see the show last week, and wouldn’t you know it, they were in the 3rd row when the actor fell off the stage. It’s sad that he was injured and I know everyone wishes him the best as he recovers. We are hoping to go to a preview next month, and we’re not yet sure if my BIL will be taking over that role from the injured actor. Most of all we’re just hoping they work out the kinks and get the show opened safely.
I’ve had to get up 3 times while writing the last paragraph to get my cat to stop ripping up the toilet paper. He’s torn through a half a role. Last night he took out a pair of my new pajamas from their box two different times. And then again while my husband was at work. I’m not sure what his issue is with the box, but no doubt he has some serious issues of his own.
I’m going skiing next weekend and I can’t freaking wait.
Someone needs to invent some sort of parental control that prevents me from reading the comments on news articles. I honestly become more afraid for the future of this country when I read them- both for grammar and for the views that some people articulate. Just plain scary.
That’s pretty much all I’ve got for tonight. I need some sleep, and hopefully I’ll be back with something more interesting tomorrow.

So glad you enjoyed your holiday, katie.

LOVE MY KINDLE~
The books are so cheap! I buy myself 4-5 a week (or whatever the $40 per month I budget will buy me). Did you buy the lighted case (when I got mine they didn’t make a lighted case)? I love mine so much I may upgrade and than sell mine, along with two chargers, and the remainder of my warrenty because it won’t transfer over; and my case. The books will stay with me so that they can be transfered to the new Kindle. So, hopefully, I can get $100-$125 a great deal. But that’s only if I buy a new one. I still have Hanukkah $$ left and birthday $$ left (from August). And it was a BIG birthday, so, there were lot’s of monetary gifts and Amazon Gift Cards (I also have a large promotional credit because of the HELL they put me through). I told them I expect to be compensated for my time and they asked what I thought would be appropriate and I said it would be nice if maybe they would buy my a few books (I was thinking a $30 gift card; I thought it was fair enough for the 15 hours of phone work I had to deal with to solve their issue). They did better than that times a lot. Enjoy and welcome to the Kindle Club. What book did you/are you buying first. Not too mention it is easier to buy a book than to tie your shoes, brush your teeth, get the mail, start your car, breathe.

@Katie,
My green apple case came today with my upgraded 3G+ Wi Fi Kindle (1/7). I have already downloaded the 31 books from my old Kindle to my New Kindle. I can read them both as the books will stay stored in both. And if I were to go on vacation and didn’t want to lose or ruin the newer Kindle I can read from the older sans light and not only will the Kindle I read from remember my place but so will the one I left at home. COOL! I have (the official count); 32 books and this weekend is buy books day (I get four a month). Not to mention I got to deduct $75 in gift cards and promotional cards to the purchase, making it less than the price of the 3G+ Wi Fi alone (the one for $186). I am pumped! What color case did you select? I went for the green it is pretty. Take care. Let me know if you have any book suggestions. I started reading Portia de Rossi’s Book (I will explain why another time), you may find it inspiring. Jodi
