Katie - Have you seen Trouble the Water"? It's a hard movie to watch, but tells a powerful story. I have no idea if it reflects the post-Katrina NOLA that you experienced, but it's definitely worth watching.

I’m bummed I missed your contest. I pretend to like old movies, even though I don’t know why I don’t like them either. If it came out before 1980, I’m not interested. I also have not seen many, many of the same movies you haven’t and I did not have the same parental restrictions. I recommend Death at a Funeral and The Hours.

Shawshank Redemption and ET, I don’t watch a lot of movies, in fact if I try I usually fall asleep but these are two of my favorite that I did stay awake for. As for Shawshank Redemption I have watched it several times, something I never do.

Silverado is one of the best westerns ever!!! A real “Cheer the Hero & Boo the Villain” kind of picture. Someone else above mentioned Tombstone and I would second that. It is a fabulous film and Val Kilmer’s best ever role.

OMFG thanks for doing this coz reading thru everyones lists has reminded me of soooo many great movies I had forgotten about. Saw most of my ideas already written ( Ghostbusters, Shawshank, Oceans 11, Pulp Fiction…)
